Max

Awesome painterly look gives the two (Max and his toy) good form, which is great when having two things interacting like this. I guess Max's limb's and torso maybe too long for his age at the time(I'm not sure, not really good with children myself) But it doesn't look outlandish or unappealing I think, like he still looks like a young kid. I love the use of horizontal stripes for his socks and shirt, along with the dark pants make excellent design markers/breaks that help Max pop-out in the image. That flower crocodile is so gorgeous and cool, and think it's really sweet to include it into the image. I really like that you rendered it in a way that makes it look sturdy and bulky. (interestingly the real thing seems flatter and posed more to the ground in a cool gator-like fashion) The floral pattern is also excellently rendered, the attention of detail to each flower and leaf makes the toy so captivating to look at.

The image of a child embracing a toy of theirs is extremely heartwarming and I feel you did a great job of capturing that effect. Flower gator's upright pose gives off the impression that it's alive and being receptive to Max's love.(The bright floral pattern also helps with it) Max, whose face is practically glowing with that joyful expression, and when surrounded by the duller colors of this pictures pallet. That sense of life adding to the aforementioned heartwarming feeling.
